Hi party people!!!! I can’t believe the end of the year is here and we’re almost in 2010. WHERE DID THE YEAR GO??? Looking back, D-10 was busy this year!!! We would like to thank all of you for your support in our events. We hope you had just as much fun as we did by attending NewWeen, St. Pete First Friday events, the White Trash Ball (I mean come on – who else has a mechanical bull at their house party in a back yard???), the Cinco de Mayo party and the 4th of July boat party just to name a few…
We had our largest turn out for the Halloween party this year – 386 people! It was an incredible time with flame performers, a hypnotist and an incredible costume contest. But most importantly we DOUBLED the proceeds for the donation to Pasco Kids First – INCREDIBLE!!! I know a lot of you have asked us, ‘Where does the money go exactly?’ Becky Bennett (Healthy Families Pasco-Hernando Program Manager Pasco Kids First, Inc) explained where the proceeds are going: |

‘The D-10 Society held their annual Halloween Party at the D-10 House in South Tampa on October 31st. They had a record breaking crowd of 386 guests in a variety of costumes raising $2,009 for Pasco Kids First. The funds from the party will be used for scholarships for Healthy Families home visitors to receive the Family Development Credential from PHCC.’
How incredible is that??? We are able to help their employees earn more credentials to help the community!!! Amazing! Board member, Patrick Lau, headed up a food and clothing drive for Pasco Kids First for the holidays. We had boxes of toys, food and clothing. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everyone who donated! A special thanks to the WAKA kickball teams for allowing a portion of the drive to happen at the end of the season tournament. As you all know, our next event is the New Year’s Eve party. The place is BEAUTIFUL and it’s going to be so much fun! When I first saw the place I was in awe. The Halloween party was filled to capacity at one point and those that didn’t pre-purchase their tickets were left to stand outside for a while and many were unable to get in. Don’t let this happen to you. Get your tickets NOW! Be ready to rock it as we plan on having this be one of our best events yet! Mark your calendars for the first event of 2010 – D10’s very own NewWeen on January 9th. Not only is this my most FAVORITE holiday of the year, it’s a reason to dress up in Halloween customs and celebrate New Year’s Eve all over again – I hope to see you there! We would like to THANK each and EVERY one of you for all of your support from the bottom of our hearts. We couldn’t do any of this without your involvement. Thank you for helping your community and having a great time doing it! We really appreciate it and send our love. MUAH! Be sure to visit this blog once a month. The Board Members are taking turns updating it each month and it will help keep you in the loop of what we have planned. Thank you again, keep partying, be safe and HAVE FUN! I look forward to seeing and partying with you on New Year’s Eve! PS. If you have NOT seen Wonderland at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts (the former TBPAC) I HIGHLY suggest you go see it! Being a blonde hair blue-eyed girl, I was a little sad to see how much Alice had changed her looks, but LOVED the fact it’s addressed in the opening song and Janet Dacal ROCKED IT as well as the entire cast! The set and costumes were AMAZING and eye appeasing. I’ll tell you what – I’ll take the Jack of Hearts/White Knight and his sexy boy band any day of the week! I never knew guys could be hot with knee boots on…. =) They’re trying to have Broadway pick up this play and I hope it does. How cool would it be to say that you saw it FIRST in TAMPA?? If you have any interest in theater, show your support and get to the Straz Center and see the show. You won’t be disappointed! Happy Holidays! |
